Mr. Henry Hamilton Jr.
March 30, 1935 - April 7, 2022
Henry Hamilton Jr., fondly known as “Hank” was born March 30, 1935, in Hayneville, Alabama to the union of the late Henry and Bertha (Lawson) Hamilton. He was a truck driver for many years with Tews Lime and Cement, Milwaukee, WI. He loved working for Tews and was the recipient of several employee honors. He was a proud member of Teamsters Local 200. In recognition of his many years of service his name is etched in stone on the outside wall of the union building. Bored with retirement, he later drove a truck part-time for George Harris Trucking, Milwaukee, WI. For more than 30 years, he snowplowed many businesses and residences, including the homes of family members who were often quite surprised to wake and find their driveways plowed (free of charge). Henry was a man of strong faith throughout his life. He was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church for more than 60 years. He served on the Trustee Board, was a loyal attendee of Sunday School, and helped organize the church barbeque. A devoted husband and father, he loved and served God and his family above all else. In addition to his parents, Henry was preceded in death by one sister Juanita Mickles (JC), two brothers, Thomas and Frank Hamilton, a grandson, Corey Mayfield, several aunts and uncles. He is survived by his wife, Jerry Ann (Cole) Hamilton; three children -- daughters, Brenda J. Mayfield and Beverly Hamilton Williams (Johnny), and son, Henry Hamilton III (Susan); twelve grandchildren, Tisiphani, Oscar (Medina), Meghin Pearson (Cody), Chaz and Taylor Hamilton, Courtney and Dominique Williams, Haley Hamilton and Tyler Howard; fourteen great grandchildren Ian, Takis, Amaris, Graceland, Caree, Tory, Kenedy, Scarlett, Kristiana, Ajayna, Verra, Jayda, Reece, and Meisha. He is also survived by two sisters Marie Porterfield of Montgomery, AL, Carrie Smith (Stanley), of Southaven, MS; and a brother Arthur Hamilton (Audrey Nell) of Milwaukee, WI, and a host of relatives and friends. SERVICES: Saturday, April 16, 2022 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 5277 N 36th Street, Milwaukee, WI 53209. Visitation 10-11 AM, Celebration of Life 11:00 AM. Repast to follow at Mt.
