Mrs. Ethel L. Strawder Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Ethel Lee Strawder (nee Horton) Milwaukee - Ethel passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at the age of 79. Ethel was born on January 14, 1942 in Durant, Mississippi to Ike and Magline Horton (Nee Carter). Ethel married Arthur Strawder October 3, 1966 and they were married for 25 years until the passing of her beloved husband August 20, 1992. Ethel was blessed with ten children; twins Jeannie Adams and Jean Horton, Ruth (Lee) Strawder, Patricia Horton, Diane, MacArthur (Latasha), Charles, Sarisa, and Larry Strawder of Milwaukee, WI and Brenda (Don) Carpenter of Fort Worth, Texas and seven step-children; Earline (George) Culpepper, Mary (Bob) Sykes, Lee, Robert, Helen, JD, and Cleotha Strawder of Milwaukee, WI. Ethel accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized and considered Jerusalem Baptist Church her church home. Ethel received her formal education in Mississippi before moving to Wisconsin. Ethel was a devoted grandmother and great-grandmother to a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ethel is survived by many more family members and friends including her loving brother Ike, Jr. (Louise) Horton and special friend Ezzard Charles. Ethel was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Bob and James Horton, daughter Jean Horton, step-sons Robert, JD, and Cleotha Strawder, and other family members. Ethel was a proud housewife and homemaker and enjoyed watching her favorite soap operas, listening to music, and spending quality time with family and friends.
